Over the years I’ve tried a lot of different applications or techniques to keep my tasks organized. Most have been a waste of time and ultimately required more energy or upkeep than was necessary. The single point of failure for most of the other task manager applications I’ve used in the past is that they were overloaded with more features than were necessary. Integration to outlook, auto-responders, email plugins, CRM integration, over the top user management and the list goes on and on. As application developers we tend to want to create software that is “feature rich” and does it all, but in doing so we tend to complicate the user experience and ultimately, in the case of task or time management software we end up creating a little monster that actually wastes time.
